Earth Day Party Tips

posted on 4/19/13

Once a year there comes a day when we Earthlings choose to celebrate this spinning ball of magma we call home. Earth Day is a time to raise awareness for planetary issues and celebrate efforts that focus on environmental protection. Take a look at this comprehensive guide in order to plan your Earth Day event!

OCEAN DEVOTION THEME

Are you a marine-life fanatic who cares deeply about our planet’s oceans? Maybe you’re just a proponent of enjoying beaches free from floating garbage and bloated whale corpses. Either way, this Earth Day would be a great time to throw an ‘Ocean Devotion’ theme party to get people excited about the cause. Should you decide to take this opportunity to raise funds, the good people of The Nature Conservancy would be happy to put your donations toward solving oceanic problems, such as unsustainable fisheries and degraded coral reefs.

Blue lens Lennon glasses

Games:

Play ‘Under the Sea’ from the Little Mermaid over and over on repeat very loudly until your neighbors complain. Drink every time they knock on your door. Take two sips if they shout obscenities. Finish your drink when the cops come.

MOST ENDANGEROUS GAME THEME

Are you an animal lover who is passionate about preserving our planet’s endangered species? Maybe you just like eating at the Rainforest Cafe and knowing that these animatronic wonders are based on creatures that actually exist in the world. Either way, this Earth Day would be a great time to throw a ‘Most Endangerous Game’ theme party to get people excited about the cause. If you take this opportunity to raise some funds, the folks over at World Wildlife Fund would be thrilled to use your donations to combat threats to various wildlife populations, such as poaching and habitat loss.
